Q. I connect through a proxy, will this affect my downloads?

 

A. In most cases a proxy setup at your end will not affect you accessing the downloads, however you may need to contact your Network Administrator incase their are any specific network changes required.

 

Q. How do I install your programs?

 

A. Installation will vary dependant on program type, most programs come with their own .exe installation file which just requires you to double click and then follow the on screen instructions. You may come across a file such as .RAR and .ZIP, these are basically compressed files and you will need a program called WinRAR to open, this is completely free. Once you have installed your desired application, simply run it from either your Start Menu or from the shortcut icon on your Desktop.

 

Q. My web browser asks me if I want to save or open a file. What should I do?

 

A. When downloading any software on the Internet your web browser will ask you what to do with it. You have two common options, these are Save and RUN. The most reccomended option is to save the file to a desired directory and run it from there as if you run into any issues with your computer you have it backed up and ready to install again!.

 

Q. I just downloaded the file but I cant find it. What should i do?

 

A. This happens to a lot of people, simply start another download and when the window pops up click on Save and a directories window should popup, this window should reveal which directory your download was saved to last time, this is known as the "Default Directory". Simply note down this directory location and open it revealing your original downloaded file.

 

Q. I downloaded a movie but all I get is sound. Why is there no picture?

 

A. This is a common problem and basically means you dont have the required codec installed on your computer to play the image part of the video file, the members area will include the best software for playing your favourite video files. We always reccomend VLC Media Player for playing your video files.
